Port Huron Museums Announces Regina Schreck as New Executive Director!

Port Huron, MI – [September 26, 2025] – The Port Huron Museums is excited to announce the appointment of Regina Schreck as the new Executive Director, effective at the end of October. Regina brings a wealth of experience and a strong background in history and the arts, making her an excellent fit for this pivotal role.
Regina is an experienced curator that has coordinated more than 80 art exhibitions in a 12 year span, showcasing her expertise in exhibition logistics and management. Highlights from Regina’s previous roles include serving as Associate Registrar at the Detroit Institute of Arts, where she collaborated with prestigious boards and donors, and traveled extensively to learn from the communities she engaged with. Her experience as a peer reviewer for museum accreditation by the American Alliance of Museums underscores her commitment to excellence in museum practices. Most recently, she served as the Curator of Visual Arts at the Midland Center for the Arts, where she was responsible for creating exhibition contracts, managing schedules, and ensuring compliance with shipping and insurance requirements.
In addition to her curatorial work, Regina has been actively involved in community engagement, serving as a representative on the Public Arts Committee for the Midland Area Community Foundation for one year as a part of her position at the Midland Center for the Arts. She has also collaborated with the Art Bridges Foundation to facilitate statewide exhibitions, fostering partnerships among large, medium, and small museums.
Regina’s diverse background also includes teaching experience at the college level, where she found joy in working with students. She taught Integrative Studies in Arts and Humanities at Michigan State University, inspiring the next generation of arts enthusiasts. She has also taught at Kettering University, Mott Community College, and Marian University.
