Feast of the Ste.
Claire
May 24th and 25th, 2008
Saturday, 10 am to 10 pm
Sunday, 10 am to 5 pm
This year is the
28th Anniversary of the Feaste of the Ste. Claire.
It celebrates the original exploration and settlement of the
Great Lakes area by the French. The Feast of the Ste. Claire
recreates the four periods of early Michigan – the Indians, the
French, the British, and the American eras. Historic hobbyists
from all over the Great Lakes area will be attending this
event. They will recreate, in living history displays, the time
periods of the French and Indian War, the American Revolutionary
War, the days of the early American fur trade, and the War of
1812. The enactors will live in historic style camps to show
the public the daily life of these time periods. Demonstrations
of the 18th century living, cooking, and crafts will
highlight the event. Two fife and drum corps, and several
period correct musicians and musical groups will provide music
all day long and play for the Saturday night colonial dance.
Admission for the Feast is $7 for adults,
$5 for Students and Seniors (55+), or a Family Pass for $17.
Museum Members pay only $2 for admission and Military Personnel
with ID are free.
For more information, see the Feast's
website.
