History in a Suitcase

Teachers, Scouts & Service Groups

Are you scratching your head, trying to find a way to get kids excited about history? The Port Huron Museum is here to help!

As a community resource, the museum wants to assist you in your efforts to educate others on local history. Currently, there are six traveling displays available on the following topics:

Before History
Prehistoric Fossils
Native Americans
Our Early Inhabitants
French Fur Traders
First Europeans to Explore the Great Lakes
Fort Gratiot
Military Fort
Lore of the Lakes
Maritime History
Thomas Edison
Boyhood Home in Port Huron

If you would like to borrow one of these History in a Suitcase displays, please call Suzette Bromley at (810) 982-0891, ext. 116.

It is possible, given enough time and if the artifacts are in the collections, that the museum could put together additional displays on other topics. Again, please call Suzette Bromley at (810) 982-0891, ext. 116.
